Hi Darrell. I am from Canada too. Thank-you for sharing your story. I am still trying to navigate everything too. I really liked the part of finding a doctor that resonated well with you. Do you also have an Aortic Aneurysm and need a Dacron sleeve? My valve is okay but the ascending aorta enlarged. I don't think I am a candidate for the Ross Procedure. Big hugs and prayers for you. I am looking forward to hearing about your procedure and how your recovery is going.

Darrell Malone Hello Sher, We have a few Canadians here. I have a bicuspid aortic valve that is not functioning so well anymore. I do not have an aortic aneurysm.

Darrell Malone Hello Sue. I just sat down after taking the dog out. Thank you very much for your prayers I am happy to receive them. I have a lot of different feelings now with how quickly I am moving towards surgery. One feeling I don't have is I am not scared.

Dr.Ashe has definitely made me feel that this decision is the right one as well as the timing.

Yes a Ferrari 🚘 lol I liked that. 👍🏻

Hi Darrell! Nice to meet another Canadian on here! 😊

At this very moment I’m sitting in the waiting room of Toronto General Hospital’s cardiac clinic waiting to meet Dr. Maral Ouzounian to discuss the possibility of the Ross—it seems there are so few surgeons in Canada who do it, or at the volume recommended.

I’m also waiting to get Dr. Ashe’s opinion as his wonderful assistant Von was the first to get back to me when I began making my inquiries and I was told he has performed over 90 RPs.

Do you know when you’ll be having your surgery? Though I’m much older (and not sure if I’ll even be approved for it) I would love to follow your progress. Wishing you all the best! 🙏🏻❤️‍🩹
